About Evergreen Cemetery

Evergreen Cemetery is part of Service Corporation International (SCI), the largest corporate funeral chain in the United States, which is worth keeping in mind if personal, locally-owned service is important to your family. The cemetery is a historic site in El Paso, with notable figures interred on the grounds. Pricing information was not available for this listing, so families should contact the cemetery directly and request an itemized General Price List, which funeral homes are required by law to provide. With a 3.4-star rating across 73 Google reviews, the feedback here raises a consistent and meaningful concern: multiple visitors describe the grounds as poorly maintained, with overgrown weeds, unkempt grave sites, and a general decline in upkeep that has left families distressed during visits. While a few reviewers mention respectful individual staff members, the pattern of complaints about physical maintenance is something families with loved ones already buried there — or those considering it — should weigh carefully before making a decision.

What happened to this cemetery? It is in horrible shape!! When I was growing up we lived next door to it. It was beautiful! I thought it was supposed to be maintained. I feel for the families who have their loved ones buried there. So shameful looking and what a dishonor to them. The whole su…

It breaks my heart to see this cemetery in such poor condition. We come here to visit and remember our loved ones, but instead of peace we are met with thorns, weeds, and an unkempt environment. It’s painful not being able to walk to the graves without worrying about being scratched or tangled in ov…

I have several family members who are buried there at Evergreen. I grew up visiting my grandparents, uncles and cousins several times a year and remembering how green, giant green healthy trees lined the cemetery. I just visited my grandparents headstone yesterday and I was in tears on the lack of c…

I visit my grandparents there twice or three times a year when I fly in from Idaho and, I went today to Evergreen (Alameda)10-25-2022 and the place is awful. My grandparents stone was covered in weeds!! All along the side of the road, the sidewalk is nothing but weeds. Extremely frustrating!
